Manila

Manila Harbor sunset

Manila Harbor sunset, photographed in 2009 by Roydy
Inquired of Doria at Pan Am about planes to Mindanao and found they run Mon. Wed. and Fri. about 2 hours to Iloilo. Marian came in while I was talking and said, “you are not going to leave us are you?”

Mixed solutions for developing. Had lunch alone with Marian and afterwards showed her David’s and my pictures of the trip, of the latter only a few negatives.

Developed two rolls with good results. Water 80 degrees. Cooled developer to 74 degrees and got good results with Agfa 17 on 5 1/2 min development.

Marian called up at 5:00 and asked me to go to tea at the George Fairchilds. Had a good time with “Baby”, the lame, pretty unmarried daughter. The other daughter is Mrs. Gordon McKay. Think will see something of them after the Fairchilds go to Banos.

David had not returned at 7:00 when Marian and I reached the hotel, we had dinner and David arrived about 9. I went to the room and heard a full account of his day at the Bureau of Plant Introduction station.
