I stayed aboard to photograph the new specimens, of which there were three, and do some developing. The weather was still raining with considerable wind.
There was nowhere below for Hugo to sleep last night and Anne let him sleep in her state room while she slept in the store room. She can be very considerate.
Many natives came up to the board with specimens for David, some of which were valuable. David is looking for tree snails for someone who is studying evolution. There has turned out to be so much material here that we will stay over tomorrow.
Anne, Hugo, and Fenton went ashore and were unable to attract attention from the boat in order to get back. They waited an hour in the dark and rain. Anne certainly was mad when she got back and told David “he should use his bean more.”
