Manila, Philippines

Written by Edward Beckwith on Friday, July 5, 1940

Strong wind and rain, very evidently a typhoon.

David and Marian stopped for me at 8:30 and we went to American Express to see about reservations, later to the Roosevelt Steamship Co. office. It looked as though we would get on the Bloemfontein of Java Pacific Line on July 25. Fenton came to my room and said he was thinking of working his way back.

Ted and I had dinner and then went to see Northwest Passage in Technicolor.
