Manila, Philippines

Written by Edward Beckwith on Friday, July 12, 1940

Mrs. Yankey called and asked me to dinner. Sun and blue sky, but wind continued. Paid hotel bill 59.20, 8 pesos per day for me and 4 pesos per day for Ted. Dined with Mr. & Mrs. Yankey (Hugo’s sister). David and Marian were there. A German, who has been in Ecuador, and his wife came in later. Very good Kodachrome movies of junk etc. Pleasant evening.
