Forestry College at Los Baños, Philippines

Written by Edward Beckwith on Friday, July 19, 1940

Took 1 PM train for “college,” the station for the Agricultural College, arriving at 2:30. Marian appeared with the car in 20 min. and drove me to the Bahay Kubo where she and David are staying. This quiet, bamboo house looked very natural after 5 months.

At 4 PM I went with David to a talk at the Forestry Club House on Palawan by Seulet, etc. David said something later about establishing an arboretum. He is an extremely good and forceful speaker, better than I had expected he would be after his remarks about sleepy audiences.

We dined at the Currans.
